Αρχιτέκτονας – πολεοδόμος, μαθηματικός, Πτυχίο Μαθηματικών Φυσικομαθηματικής Σχολής Α.Π.Θ., Πτυχίο Αρχιτεκτονικής Π.Σ. Α.Π.Θ., D.E.A. αστικής γεωγραφίας, PHD πολεοδομίας-αστικής γεωγραφίας, καθηγητής στην Πολυτεχνική Σχολή του Α.Π.Θ., Τμήμα Αρχιτεκτόνων, Τομέας Πολεοδομίας - Xωροταξίας και Περιφερειακής Aνάπτυξης, Εργαστήριο Πολεοδομικού και Περιβαλλοντικού Σχεδιασμού. Συνεργάτης του Laboratoire de Geographie Urbaine (L.G.U.), του Πανεπιστημίου Paris X, C.N.R.S., C.N.A.M., Institut National d’Etudes Démographiques (I.N.E.D.), Institut d'Amenagement et d'Urbanisme (I.A.U.). Το όνομά του περιλαμβάνεται στο Swiss “Hübners WHO IS WHO”. Προσκεκλημένος καθηγητής (από το 1998) σε μεταπτυχιακά προγράμματα μεταπτυχιακού και διδακτορικού κύκλου με γενικό αντικείμενο τον Πολεοδομικό Προγραμματισμό-Σχεδιασμό (Paris Ouest-Nanterre La Défense, L.G.U. - C.N.R.S.).

Συγγραφέας 14  βιβλίων (8 κεφάλαια) και 55 επιστημονικών δημοσιεύσεων. Συμμετοχές σε διεθνή συνέδρια. Συμμετοχή σε 23 ερευνητικά προγράμματα και σε 40 αρχιτεκτονικές και πολεοδομικές μελέτες.

Εκπαιδευτικές δραστηριότητες
-Τριακονταπενταετής διδακτική εμπειρία σε πτυχιακό, μεταπτυχιακό και διδακτορικό κύκλο καθώς και σε προγράμματα Erasmus σε Πανεπιστήμια της Ελλάδας (Τμήμα Αρχιτεκτόνων και Τμήμα Χωροταξίας Πολυτεχνικής Σχολής Α.Π.Θ., Τμήμα Μαθηματικών Α.Π.Θ., ) και του εξωτερικού. Διδασκαλία σε μεταπτυχιακά προγράμματα μεταπτυχιακού και διδακτορικού κύκλου του Πανεπιστημίου Paris Ouest-Nanterre La Défense, L.G.U. - C.N.R.S.με γενικό αντικείμενο τον Πολεοδομικό Προγραμματισμό-Σχεδιασμό (προσκεκλημένος καθηγητής από το 1998). Επιβλέπων σε δεκαέξι διδακτορικές διατριβές. Συμμετοχή σε εκπαιδευτικά προγράμματα επιμόρφωσης.
