SUMMER PROGRAM: Experimental architecture workshop

Who can take the workshop?

The program is designed for architects and architecture students from the 5th semester of their bachelor’s degree onwards.

What is the workshop about?

This is a workshop in which the participants will develop an urban-architectural project applied to a 16th century hacienda located in San Miguel de Allende (Mexico), in which, through contextual analysis, recognition of the needs of the site and the application of both technology and vernacular construction techniques, they will be able to propose new solutions that promote the conservation of the heritage and, in turn, diversify the economic activity of the hacienda and its surroundings.

The content proposed covers three fundamental themes:

  • Urban design:

A regional and urban analysis is developed for the approach of new possibilities in a World Heritage City, working at various scales.

  • Projects and recycling:

Elements with historical-patrimonial value are analyzed, as well as architectural value, with the possibility of intervening in a timely manner on the project raised in the analysis and Urban Design stage.

  • Executive documents:

A project is developed with an important consideration of constructive components that give shape and synthesis to the global vision and concretize the first two stages.

Please find attached the presentation of the previous edition of the summer workshop.
