Scientific and research work

  • * Since 1979 research has been concentrated a) on health and well being facility planning and design b) housing design c) libraries planning and design. More analytically:
  • * The primary health care facilities in Greece and the design of Health Centers
  • * Psychiatric facilities in Greek General Hospitals and in the community (e.g.- planning and redesign of a hostel and sheltered flats for chronically mentally ill, redesign of psychiatric department of a D.G.H, master plan and design proposals for a regional long term psychiatric hospital etc.)
  • * Research on "Arts in Health Facilities"
  • * Research on development of standards and regulations in "designing for people with special needs (Universal Design)"
  • * Fire Regulations for hospitals (financed by the Greek Ministry of Public Works)
  • * Research on planning and design of facilities combining recreation, treatment and fitness in areas with spas and springs in Greece (financed by the European Community.).
  • * Design proposals for health spas and springs in Greece
  • * Teaching young architects planning and design on health spas and special treatment units as important parts of organized areas of tourism and leisure (financed by the European Community)
  • * Remodeling of AHEPA Regional and Teaching Hospital in Thessaloniki, Design proposals for remodeling of Regional Hospital of Thessaloniki “Papageorgiou) etc.
