Curriculum Vitae:
Apostolos Kalfopoulos (Ph.D, MΑrch, BSc) is an Associate Professor of Architectural Design and Visual Arts, at the School of Architecture, of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
He has also taught courses, workshops, lectures and reviewed projects in Master's Degree Programs in Greece and have been invited as external reviewer at the Institute Integrative Design, Academy of Art and Design, FHNW, University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Basel, Switzerland, and at the Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation.
He is co-founder (2017) of "SuKu Architects", a collective architectural practice that focuses on Research on Architecture, Exhibition Design and Curating. Since 2002 he has been working as an Architect, Independent Curator and Art Critic. He has curated and designed a series of Multidimensional Projects, Art Festivals, Exhibitions, and Publications.
In 2009 he founded DYNAMO - an independent, non-profit organization supporting, highlighting and disseminating Contemporary Creation and Original Research in the fields of Visual and Applied Arts, Architecture and Design. From 2009 till 2016, DYNAMO organized and curated more than 40 national and international projects, exhibitions, workshops, residency programs etc.
He has written and edited a series of texts and catalogues regarding established and upcoming artists. He has co-organised and moderated many national and international conferences and symposiums and has presented lectures in a series of institutions, museums and universities on Architecture and Art, on Curating and Art Initiatives, on Creativity and Creative Education, etc.
He has been a member of Juries of National and International Architecture and Art competitions. During 2015-2016 he was a Member and Vice-President of the European Committee of Experts, European Capital of Culture 2021. During 2015-2016 he was a Member of the Advisory Committee of the Deputy Mayor of Culture, Municipality of Thessaloniki.
