Auth Rectorate Authorities have established a regulation governing the AUTh Library System’s operation.       

Loaning regulations
According to the academic status of the user, the loaning regulations are as follows:

1. Undergraduate  students and employees : 4 books for 15 days.
2. Teaching Staff, Postgraduate and PhD students :  15 books for 30 days.
3. No university members:  3 books for 20 days (the charge is 50€ per year).
Membership card
In order to borrow books, a library card which is strictly personal is  required. This card can be used in all libraries incorporated in the AUTH Library System.   
    In order to acquire a membership card, users should provide:
1.  Student identification booklet.
2.  Police Identification Card
3.  A recent photograph
4.  Application for a membership card
The card is renewed at the beginning of each academic year (October) by presenting the student identification booklet. 
Loss of a library card must be reported to the library staff  immediately and a replacement fee of 5€ is charged. A second or next loss of card is charged with a fee of 20€.

Renewal of loaning time
Loaning time of books maybe extended – even by telephone – before their due date, provided that they have not been requested by another user.

Reservation of material
Reservation of books may be done via internet through the electronic catalogue and the user will be notified by the library staff   by telephone. For the completion of the reservation, a PIN number (given by the user when he applies for the card) and the barcode number are required.

Fines
Overdue books are fined with 0,30€ per book per day.
Should a library user neglect to pay a fine, he/she may not borrow or renew books from any library included in the AUTH Library System until the fine is paid.
